Andrew Dessler is a Professor of Atmospheric Sciences at Texas A&M. Dr. Dessler’s career in science and the environment has been one of great reach and impact. Dr. Dessler’s time as a Senior Policy Analyst in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, illuminated the lack of understanding amongst policymakers and the general public about how science works and how to interpret conflicting claims often heard in policy debates. As a result Dr. Dessler wrote a book: The Science and Politics of Global Climate Change: A Guide To The Debate. In his book Dr. Dessler points to the climate change arena to explain how science is used and misused in the policy arena.
Dr. Dessler also has many scholarly publications and two other books which can be found by clicking here.
Dr. Dessler also does extensive research on water vapor. He states: “The complexity of water and its multiple interconnections with other parts of the atmospheric/oceanic system means that water cannot be studied by itself, but must be understood as part of a larger, more complex system.” There is no doubt water and climate change go hand in hand.
Dr. Dessler is looking forward to speaking about all these connections, from climate change and politics, to climate change and water vapor, and beyond on our October 12th show. Tune in on Saturday 10/12, 3-4 pm CST, on iHeart Radio: KXFR 1190AM.
