Dr. Kim Knowlton is Senior Scientist and Deputy Director of the Science Center at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). She is also assistant professor of environmental health sciences at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health in their Climate & amp; Health Program. Kim has worked for nearly 20 years as a health scientist specializing in the human health impacts of climate change. She has co-authored national and local climate assessments, factsheets, and websites that describe what global climate change means “in our backyards.”
Since joining NRDC in 2007, she has worked in the U.S. and internationally on climate impacts research and adaptation strategies to protect public health from climate change. She currently works to help advocate for a clean, healthy energy future, connect the dots between climate and health, adapt to climate change, and put science in the service of protecting people, places, and the planet.
