Denise Hickey - North Texas Municipal Water District

Denise Hickey is the Water Resource Program and Public Education Manager of the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD). Ms. Hickey oversees the water conservation education and outreach initiatives for the local Water IQ: Know Your Water, WaterMyYard, and Water4O er campaigns. Water Resource Program initiatives focus primarily on changing consumer water use habits to more efficient behaviors. Public education and outreach programs also bring higher consumer awareness to the services the NTMWD provides for water, wastewater, solid waste, and water reuse in NTMWD in these and other areas. 

Ms. Hickey graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology, with an education certification in biology and chemistry from Sam Houston State University. She has been working for the NTMWD since 1995, and is dedicated to educating consumers about the wise and efficient use of our finite water resources. She is an active participant with the state’s Water Conservation on Advisory Council, a member of the American Water Works Association, a member of the Water Environment Federation, and the Water Efficiency Network of North Texas among other industry organizations.
