Dr. David Bishai, MD, MPH, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health at Johns Hopkins University, President of International Health Economics Association 2018-2019, board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and American Board of Internal Medicine, recipient of the Advising, Mentoring and Teaching Award (AMTRA), Golden Apple Award for Teaching. Dr. Bishai is also the newly appointed Hartford County Health Officer as of January 1st 2021.
His major research interest is the economics of public health practice.
His current projects focus on the connection between the operations at national, state and local health departments and improved population health. He teaches Introduction to Health Economics, Poverty Economic Development and Health, Systems Thinking in Public Health.
