Ten-year-old Danny is passionate about making the world a better place, starting with his local environment here in Tonbridge, Kent. He spends much of his spare time litter picking in the parks, streets and footpaths near his home and has inspired many local families to do the same, making his town a much cleaner place to live.
In 2018 Danny was part of a campaign that successfully managed to save a local tree from being felled. This gave him a taste of how direct action about issues that are important to you can actually make a real difference, and since then he has led climate strikes at his school to raise awareness of the dangers our planet faces.
Together with his 8-year-old brother Jojo, Danny was named Environmental Champion for Tonbridge and Malling in 2019 for his litter picking activities and community clean-up initiative. His greatest wish is for everyone else in the world to feel the same as he does about stopping climate change and to start taking better care of our planet.
Danny is currently campaigning for “Only rain down the drain.” Over the last 2 weeks, Danny has rescued more than 30 tiny toads trapped in drains because of plastic blockages. He has set these toads free, and is raising awareness about how these amphibians are becoming endangered because of roads and drains.
All of Danny's activities can be seen on the Litter Kickers (@Lkickers) Twitter account.
