Shawn Fisher is a hydrologist with the U.S. Geological Survey. He has been with the USGS since 2002 collecting and interpreting groundwater and surface water-quality data. Based on Long Island, New York, he has worked on studies involving contaminants of emerging concern in public supply wells, urban studies and wastewater contamination, groundwater transport in nearshore waters, assessing sediment and water for insecticide contamination in untargeted wetlands, microplastics, and evaluating real-time water-quality data.
