Maria Saxton recently received her Ph.D. from Environmental Design and Planning from Virginia Tech. Her dissertation explored the ecological footprint of tiny home downsizers, finding how tiny homes are one way to live a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle. She is currently an environmental planner and housing specialist at Hill Studio in Roanoke, Virginia and serves on the board of the Tiny Home Industry Association.
