Jaime Madrigano - RAND

Jaime Madrigano is an environmental epidemiologist at the nonprofit, non-partisan research organization, RAND Corporation. Her research focuses on the health impacts of extreme heat and air pollution, with an emphasis on environmental justice. Jaime’s research has been cited in multi-agency climate and health preparedness efforts within New York City and she has worked with local health departments and community-based organizations to conduct health and environmental needs assessments. Jaime is currently leading research to examine the relationship between systemic discriminatory practices and inequitable environmental burdens in the U.S., as well as research to investigate heat vulnerability in New Orleans, Louisiana. Prior to joining RAND, she completed interdisciplinary postdoctoral training focused on climate change and health as an Earth Institute Fellow at Columbia University and was an Assistant Professor at Rutgers University. Jaime received her Sc.D. in epidemiology and environmental health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
