Dr. Samantha Ahdoot - Pediatric Associates of Alexandria

Dr. Ahdoot has been Board Certified with the American Board of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) since 2002. She joined Pediatric Associates of Alexandria in 2003. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, Inova Campus, as well as Attending Physician at Inova Alexandria and Fairfax Hospitals. Dr. Ahdoot served as the Chair of the Pediatric Department of Alexandria Hospital, and has been recognized in multiple editions of the Washingtonian and Northern Virginia Magazine's Best Doctors magazines.

Dr Ahdoot is a Board Member of the Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is proud to be working to advance initiatives that protect the health and well-being of children in our state.

Dr. Ahdoot served as a member of the Executive Committee of the AAP’s Council on Environmental Health. She is a spokesperson for the AAP on climate change impacts on children, and was lead author of their Policy Statement on Climate Change and Children’s Health, published in November 2015. She is Chair and Cofounder of Virginia Clinicians for Climate Action.

Dr. Ahdoot is an active member of the Alexandria Community, and has served on the City's Early Childhood and Environmental Policy Commissions. In 2011 she received the City of Alexandria’s Ellen Pickering Environmental Excellence Award for her work creating an elementary school environmental program and large community garden within the City of Alexandria.

Dr. Ahdoot grew up in New York City, where she attended the Dalton School and Juilliard Pre-College for trumpet. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in English from Wesleyan University, CT in 1991, and her Medical Degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1999. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Tufts University in Boston in 2002. She and her husband, Kenneth, have two children who are themselves second generation PAA patients.
