Dr. Aimin Chen, MD, PHD is an expert in environmental medicine. Namely in the toxic impact of chemical leaching on human health.
He is Deputy Director of the Center for Environmental Genetics (CEG) funded by the US National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). He serves as Director of Clinical and Translational Research Training Program in the University of Cincinnati. He is an Associate Editor of International Journal of Hygiene and Environmental Health(IJHEH).
Dr. Chen specializes in perinatal and pediatric environmental epidemiology, studying chemical exposures and adverse pregnancy outcomes, child neurodevelopment, obesity and metabolic disorders. He has conducted epidemiologic research on DDT, isoflavones, lead, mercury, cadmium, tobacco smoke, flame retardants, perfluoroalkyl substances, particulate matter, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. He also has research interest in child health risk reduction through exposure mitigation and (parental) behavior modification since prenatal period.
