Diana Allen - National Park Service

Diana Allen serves as Chief of Health Promotion for the National Park Service, and agency lead for the Healthy Parks Healthy People program. She works with NPS parks, programs, and partners to set a vision and a course to reframe the role of parks and public lands as a powerful health promotion strategy, and bring about lasting change in Americans’ lifestyle choices and their relationship with the great outdoors. Diana has a broad base of experience working in collaboration with the conservation, recreation, and public health sectors, at local, regional, national, and international levels. She began her career with the National Park Service in 1999, as a conservation planner for the Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program, Midwest Region. She serves on the working group for the National Park Rx Initiative, the Federal working group on Trauma Informed Care, and North American lead, and co-chair for the International Union for Conservation of Nature for Health and Wellbeing. Diana and her husband and eighteen-year old son have homes in St. Louis, Missouri and Washington DC. They enjoy time in nature together- biking, hiking, camping, and relaxing in the great outdoors.
